Dynamics of Water and Societal Systems
An Interdisciplineary Research Program at the Virginia Tech StREAM Lab
2012 Research Experience for Undergraduates
June 4 - August 10
The StREAM Lab REU represents a true integration across numerous disciplines, with participating faculty members from ten different departments and five colleges at Virginia Tech. The project builds on the strength of five years of ongoing interdisciplinary research collaborations at the StREAM Lab. An extensive array of real-time spatio-temporal monitors at this site will permit students to investigate complex, systems-level interactions within a relatively small, manageable watershed. In addition to exposing students to the diversity of related research in this area, this project will provide students with opportunities to communicate and interact with various stakeholders and the general public.
