Environmental Internship Opportunity in Bridgewater, VA

The Berkley Group – a local government consulting firm based in Bridgewater, VA – is seeking two interns interested in the planning field including environmental planning, grant administration, and storm water BMPs. Successful candidates should expect to contribute to a fast-paced work environment with high energy and enthusiasm. It's essential that applicants to this position be self-motivated, detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. The internship term is from May 2015 through August 2015.

Responsibilities
  • Five (5) days of on-site work per week (Harrisonburg area or Prince William County area)
  • Assist localities with DEQ Environmental Grant
  • Data collection and organization
  • Site plan and drainage calculation review
  • Field verification of storm water data

Requirements
Applicants applying for this internship must have an excellent work ethic and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Candidates should have an understanding of environmental planning topics related to storm water and should demonstrate technical capabilities with Microsoft Office programs, GIS, and AutoCAD. Site plan review experience is preferred, but not required.

Location
The Berkley Group is filling two (2) temporary positions, part-time positions. One position will be in the Harrisonburg, Virginia area, and one position will be in the Prince William County/Northern Virginia area.
