Genetics/Genomics Research Education and Training Summer Research Program at Baylor College of Medicine

The HGSC-G/GREAT (Genetics/Genomics Research Education And Training) Summer Research Program is accepting applications!  This is a research program designed to interest African Americans; Hispanic Americans; Native Americans; and Pacific Islanders in genetics/genomics careers.  Our goal is to increase the number of these underrepresented groups with Ph.Ds in this field. We offer research projects in bioinformatics; molecular genetics; and engineering.  We are beginning to offer more bioinformatics research opportunities to our program participants.  Life science majors with an interest in coding or CS/engineering majors with programming backgrounds interested in medical research will be given priority.

Program eligibility:  We accept undergraduate junior and seniors from the above mentioned groups. Students should also have a 3.0 GPA (or above) and major in one of the following: chemistry; biology; computer science; mechanical or electrical engineering to name a few.   This internship is a paid; 9 week; residual program.

Deadline:  March 3rd, 2017
