Summer Internships at Novozymes

When you join Novozymes as a summer intern, you will work on projects that give you first-hand experience of what it’s like to work in the biotechnology industry. To realize your full potential, you’ll be supported by both a mentor and colleagues who share the same goals and ambitions as you. Summer Internship Program Overview
Internships last for 12 weeks and require a 40 hour per week commitment. This is a non-exempt/hourly position based on the rate of $15/hour. 2019 summer internships will start in June when the Spring academic term has been completed. To be considered for a summer internship in 2019, you must have Junior/Senior university class standing by Fall 2019, and you must apply for the internship by May 15th. Recent graduates may also apply.

We will hire 3-4 interns in 2019. Interns will be assigned to work directly with a researcher in one of the following areas:

• Molecular Biology
• Molecular Genomics
• Protein Chemistry
• Microbiology and Microbial Physiology (areas of specialization include Robotics Screening and Fermentation).

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BS degree program for Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or related concentration
• Hands-on laboratory experience, including use of analytical equipment
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Requirements:

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited university and in good academic standing.
• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s Degree in the R&D field (Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry) or other closely related discipline.
• Must have valid U.S. work authorization without the need for sponsorship by the company. 
• Must be able to work for 10 or 12 weeks for the duration of the internship.
• No relocation, transportation, or housing assistance will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail, good organization skills and ability to prioritize.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Be able to handle multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
