Summer Research Internship in Plant Science/Molecular Biology

We are seeking to recruit a Summer Research Intern on a temporary basis, providing valuable hands-on experience and training in a highly functional plant science research laboratory while also welcoming your passion and willingness to contribute to our solution-finding processes

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Learn how to conduct research according to procedure and with accuracy. 
  • Contribute to data analysis and method development. 
  • Learn how to create and maintain accurate and specific experimental records and perform data analysis on results.
  • Promote and maintain clean, organized work areas, including cleaning and maintaining laboratory supplies.
  • Identify problems and propose solutions based on your training.
  • Work effectively as part of a highly collaborative global research team.
  • Comply with all company policies and state and federal guidelines. 
  • Ensure Company handbook, Rules, Guidelines, Procedures and safety policies are followed and personal protective equipment is used correctly.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Meet attendance requirements. 


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma
  • Completed or enrolled in a Bio science Technology Certificate program and/or enrolled in college pursuing the field of science with an emphasis on Plant Science, Biotechnology or similar field. 
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to learn quickly and work independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing the field of the Biotechnology research.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional passion for science and the research industry.
  • Ability to communicate results and instructions clearly, and write lab notes and scientific documentation clearly, concisely and accurately in English. 
  • Currently authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, read, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
